Tonoxib

 Š•toricoxib 90 mg
Tonoxib is used for effective and long-term control of chronic inflammatory pain.

Composition: 1 tablet contains 90 mg etoricoxib.

Pharmacotherapeutic group: non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), selective COX-2 inhibitor.

Indications:
Tonoxib is intended for use in people aged 16 years and older.
• to reduce pain and inflammation in joints and muscles in osteoarthritis,
• in rheumatoid arthritis,
• in ankylosing spondylitis,
• in gout,
• for short-term treatment of moderate pain after dental procedures. 

Dosage and administration: Tonoxib should be taken only as prescribed by a doctor. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
It is recommended to use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible duration.

Doses:
• Osteoarthritis – 30 mg once daily, if needed up to 60 mg,
• Rheumatoid arthritis – 60 mg once daily, if needed up to 90 mg,
• Ankylosing spondylitis – 60 mg once daily, if needed up to 90 mg,
• Acute pain conditions – use only during the acute pain period,
• Gout – 120 mg once daily, maximum 8 days,
• Postoperative dental pain – 90 mg once daily, maximum 3 days.

The onset of action of Tonoxib may be faster when taken without food.

Pharmacological features: Long-lasting effect – up to 24 hours.

Contraindications:
Tonoxib is not used:
• in case of hypersensitivity to etoricoxib, other NSAIDs (including aspirin) or any component of the product,
• in case of gastric or intestinal ulcer or bleeding,
• in severe liver or kidney diseases,
• during pregnancy, breastfeeding, and persons under 16 years,
• in inflammatory bowel diseases,
• in uncontrolled hypertension,
• in cardiovascular diseases (heart failure, angina), as well as after myocardial infarction, stroke or in peripheral arterial disease.

Storage conditions: store in a dry place, out of reach of children, at a temperature not exceeding +30°C. Do not use after the expiry date (indicated on the carton and blister).

Packaging: round, biconvex, film-coated tablets, white or almost white. 10 tablets in a blister (Alu-Alu), 3 blisters in a carton box with leaflet.
