Furoxitonus - Cefuroxime 750mg

Composition: in 1 vial Cefuroxime 750mg.

Pharmacotherapeutic group: II generation cephalosporin. Broad spectrum antibiotic.

Indications: Infections caused by pathogens susceptible to Cefuroxime:

  • Respiratory tract infections, including pneumonia, bronchitis, infected bronchiectasis, lung abscess in high risk patients (alcoholics, smokers, elderly patients older than 65yo, etc.)
  • Abdominal and gynecological infections
  • Infections of the skin and soft tissues
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Bone and joint infections.

Prevention of postoperative infectious complications in surgery of the abdomen, pelvis, heart, lungs, esophagus, blood vessels, orthopedic surgery.

Usage: According to a doctor prescription.
Preparation of the solution: for i/m injection, 3ml of water for injection is added to 750mg of Furoxitonus and gently shaken until the opaque suspension. For i/v injection, the 750mg Furoxitonus is dissolved in at least 6ml of water for injection.

Adults: 750-1500mg (1-2 vials) 3 times a day. If necessary, the interval between injections may be reduced to 6h. Daily dose 3-6g.

Gonorrhea: 1500mg (2 vials) once, one day.
Perioperative prevention of infectious complications: 1500mg (2 vials) i/v during induction of anesthesia for 20-30 min. If necessary, may be additional i/m administration of 750mg (1 vial) after 8h and 16h.

Children: 30-100mg/kg/day, 3-4 times a day. For most infections, the optimal daily dose is 60mg/kg.

Newborns: 30-100mg/kg/day, 2-3 times a day.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to cephalosporin antibiotics.
Precautions: patients with an anaphylactic reaction to penicillin and other β-lactams in their anamnesis, in case of renal failure, diseases of the digestive tract (including the anamnesis and ulcerative colitis), necessity of combined administration with loop diuretics and aminoglycosides, in pregnancy and lactation, in newborns (especially premature).

Packing: Powder for injection in a vial. 25 vials with a leaflet in a cardboard box.
