Clarem - Clarithromycin 500mg

Composition: in 1 tablet – Clarithromycin 500mg.

Pharmacotherapeutic group: Broad spectrum antibiotic, macrolide.

Indications:

  • Upper respiratory tract infections (tonsillitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis)
  • Lower respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, bacterial pneumonia and atypical pneumonia)
  • Skin infections: impetigo, erysipelas, folliculitis, furunculosis and infected wounds
  • Disseminated or localized mycobacterial infections caused by M.avium or M.intracellulare. Localized infections caused by M.chelonae, M.fortuitum and M.kansasii
  • Eradication of H.pylori in terms of gastric acid suppression.

Dosage and administration: According to the doctor’s prescription. For oral administration.

Adults and children over 12 years old: 500mg (1 tab) twice a day, 6-14 days, depending on the character and severity of infection.

Contraindications: 

  • Hypersensitivity
  • Pregnancy and lactation
  • Severe liver failure
  • Simultaneous administration of any of the following drugs: astemizole, cisapride, pimozide, terfenadine and ergotamine or dihydroergotamine
  • Children under 12 years old.

Precautions: As clarithromycin is metabolized and eliminated by the liver, should be used with caution in patients with impaired liver function, moderate or severe renal failure, as well as for elderly (over 65 years).

Packing: 14 tablets (2x7) in a cardboard box along with a leaflet.
